Yoga For Weight Loss
‘Yoga’ is often a form of exercise that is associated with meditation, breathing exercises or seemingly impossible positioning of the body in awkward looking poses. However, there is much more to it, with a different kind of Yoga becoming immensely popular: ‘Fitness Yoga’.

In fact, the yoga health and fitness system offers both health and spiritual understanding through the rewards of self-discipline and through the individual’s direct inner experiences or realizations.
For more fitness options, combining the use of Yoga with other types of body-weight exercises, such as calisthenics could is a very wise choice for optimal fitness and health. It has been said that old East-Indian Wrestlers and Yoga Sages have ‘swapped’ ideas for yoga fitness training programs, resulting in the present-day Yoga-Esque Hindu Push-ups, Squats and Back-Bridge.

One of the great things about fitness yoga is that you can practice anywhere, without any equipment at all. It is also possible for just about anyone to do yoga, no matter what their age or fitness level, although adjustments may need to be made to the exercises. When you perform yoga, you should be sure to wear comfortable, loose clothing made from natural fibers.
However, just because you can do yoga with no equipment, a few items can actually make practice easier. Some equipment, particularly and practically used in a good yoga fitness center, can help you achieve postures more easily, or help you in balancing and proper alignment. This is because it helps support the muscles, and removes a lot of the strain that some poses cause.

While yoga equipment is not vital for yoga practice, it can be helpful, particularly if you have a disability, injury, or are a beginner. In fact, yoga is easier with the right equipment. Remember that it is okay not to be an expert when you begin learning yoga, and that modifying poses or using yoga equipment to help you is not something wrong.
Technically speaking, yoga fitness equipment includes:-
Fitness yoga mats to provide more cushioning on a hard floor, like poured concrete or hardwood. Yoga bolsters to support the abdomen, spine and legs. Yoga blankets to add softness and warmth to yoga mats and make you feel more comfortable and relaxed. Yoga straps to add greater flexibility to poses, and allow you to hold them a little bit longer than you would be able to unassisted. Yoga fitness balls - called exercise balls, stability balls and balance balls – for blending other workout techniques with the routines.
Traditionally, fitness yoga exercises are best practiced on an empty stomach. This means avoiding large meals shortly before attending class, although you can have fruit, or energy bars an hour or so before class. You may want to drink some water before you begin, as well, so that you don’t become dehydrated or light-headed while practicing.
Yoga has been helping people around the world get into shape and feel at peace for a long time, although it’s new in the Western world. Originating in India, it’s been around for thousands of years in different forms. The most popular type in the US and Europe is ‘Hatha Yoga’, although you may encounter other types as well. Yoga can help you feel more relaxed and energized, less tense, and help you get a fitter, healthier body. Remember that doing yoga isn’t just about the postures. You should also allow it to affect your mind and emotions, removing tension and anxiety.
