A bunk bed that has only the top bunk which has an open space underneath that can be used to place chest, drawers or work area. Loft beds can be used efficiently in small space by using entire vertical area. Loft beds are commonly used in college dormitories. The space underneath can be used to place another couch or computer desk.

Loft beds can also be used in children’s bedroom for added versatility. Children can use the space under the loft bed to study and playing with friends. The space under the loft can also be converted in to closet and you can insert a Murphy bed in the closet for more sleeping space.

Loft beds are created with style and safety that have supports on the ends of the each level both on the top and bottom with diagonal supports to create a triangle design. This support will prevent wobbling of the bed frame and thus also increase the sturdiness.

Guardrails are there in the loft beds but additional guardrails are available with all manufacturers for loft beds of different models. In loft beds also it is not recommended under the age of six uses the ladder or sleep on a top bunk to avoid injury. In loft beds ladders can be mounted on a diagonal slant or on a vertical angle. Most of the loft beds for purchase require assembling and the frame kits come with guard rails of both sides, mattress slats, ladder, basic headboard and footboard, screws, washers, bolts and nuts.

Loft beds are available in different sizes such as twin, double/full, queen and king sizes and are made of variety of material such as metal, finished oak, aspen, pine or with and unfinished hardwood which can be painted on your own.
