How to Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Giving birth is a great and full experience for women, but after pregnancy losing weight is a very common problem for 98% of women. There are several things to consider about weight loss as well as ways to help you shed unwanted weight. Choosing the correct method of weight loss after pregnancy will help prevent side effects and keep you away from other health problems.

After pregnancy, most women feel lazy and unmotivated to do work. Some women never do breast feed their babies. All women after pregnancy should keep in mind that breastfeeding burns about 500 calories per day. So breastfeeding will help you burn more of your calories and help you loose weight naturally. It is important not to be in too much of hurry to cut calories; you should give some time for your body to recover to its previous condition. Eating healthy foods with enough calories and nutrients can help give you the energy you need to take care of your new baby. If you start your weight reduction process after 2 months of a recovery period, and you loose 1 pound per week, it will take 12 to 21 weeks to lose the extra weight gained at your pregnancy. This means that you should regain your pre-pregnancy weight only within 6 to 8 months after the birth.

From the moment of giving birth, a women’s body starts to shrink, but it is a slow process. It takes about four weeks for the uterus to contract to its normal size and many women will loose about 8 to 20 pounds during that first two weeks automatically. Do try to keep in mind that the pregnancy weight was not gained overnight so it won’t disappear that quickly, keep noticing how the weight increases during pregnancy and it will take an equal amount of days to reduce the weight gradually after giving birth. In fact, the truth is that weight loss after pregnancy can take a very long time, sometimes even a few years, without signifying that something is wrong in the diet.

Here are some tips that can be followed to reduce the pregnancy weight. Drink plenty of water (at-least 10 glassless a day) and avoid eating snacks. Doing regular exercise or walking is also helpful to reduce the pregnancy weight. Now isn’t the time to go on a diet; restricting your calories too much can reduce your milk supply and affect your baby. You should take fruits, vegetables and healthy snacks instead. Burn your calories by breastfeeding your baby, which is actually good for both you and the baby.

Women after pregnancy should exclude fats, all type of nuts, eggs, fatty oils. It is advised to take fat free saturated milk, tomato, cucumber and lots of celery with hot sauce. Reduce sugar and salt intake, do not reduce it all together but rather take less of it. Always plan your diet and follow it to keep you looking and feeling fit and young. These are simple and effective ways to help you to lose weight after pregnancy and keep you fit and regain your pre-pregnancy weight naturally.
