BLOGGER CUSTOM DOMAIN – Promote Your Blog with Top Domain without loosing your Page Rank
One of my friend ask to me how to make his blog which hosted in blogspot migrate to his own Domain. He just bought a Top Domain name, and want to change his old blogspot address to his new domain name but still host the file in blogspot. After I make a deep research in search engine to find the best answer to my friend question, I found that google have launch a great service called “Blogger Custom Domain”.
Blogger Custom Domain is the new service from blogger which owned by Google to provide the user need like my friend need above. With blogger Custom Domain, we could have a web address using our own top domain name without paying any hosting service, because all the file is still hosted by blogger.
The great thing from Blogger Custom Domain is this service is absolutely free of charge, you do not pay anything to use this service, you only pay your own top domain. I heard that for wordpress user must pay a few dollar to get a custom domain like this. Thanks to blogger for giving us a great Free Service
– 2 thumb to Blogger.
Another great news come from this blogger custom domain is you will not lose your previous back links, your page rank, and your alexa traffic. Blog Bloke reported his experience when migrate from hosted blogspot to own domain using blogger custom domain that his page rank and alexa traffic is not dropped but growing up and become stronger.read his report on his Blog here.
With Blogger Custom Domain you could increase your site/blog credibility to your reader and other bloggers or company. May be with this change to your blog, your site value is increase and it could affect to your advertising income.

I found this through Blogrush, and I’m glad I clicked. I did not know this, but I think it’s a great idea. I’ve been thinking I’d like to get a domain, but I would hate to lose what little PR I finally have. I will bookmark this and look into it.
Thanks.

Interestingly, some folks have had problems getting both http://www.yourdomain.com and yourdomain.com working using blogger. However, it is possible using a 301 redirect for your custom domain. In case anyone is interested, I posted a how-to here:
