Anorexia enjoys the maximum patronage from the early teen and the teen section of girls of any group or for that matter a society. But this disorder is much puzzling and it often keeps these teenagers in toe for a fast and furious kind of diet regime. An anorexic teen would find oneself so at ease with the whole process of thinning out that they prefer to resist treatment of any sort. This evokes the dilemmas of family members as well as well wishers. There is also another group of people that find it difficult to put the notion of coming off it; and they are the doctors and healthcare professionals, that try what may can’t devise a plan to make these girls understand the fatalness of this ‘lifestyle choice’.

The main reason of generally teenage girls falling prey to this dreaded lifestyle maybe attributed to various reasons. The significant among them can be zeroed in to as low Self-Esteem. A sense of such kind can develop due to treatment being meted to these people while they were kids or a child. It may also conclude to some kind of sexual abuse or many such activities.

While in a family, kids are subjected to different forms of emotional upheavals; this may also lead to an emotional abuse wherein the child feels left out or rejected. There are various cases wherein the teen grows self-rejected when their parents don’t meet up to their expectations.

Talking about girls, they are subjected to lots of family customs and behaviors. When they don’t meet up to these pre-conceived norms they are looked down upon. This gives them a feeling of self-rejection and they start hunting for a place to vent their concerns and needs. That’s when this disorder in the form of a friend steps in and these girls start thinking to live a life of their choice and that is Anorexia.
Obsessive consumption and vomiting is used in the same way by some people. They generate a phony sense of pleasure and power - they facilitate the true inner feelings to be evaded.

As the adage ‘charity begins at home’, likewise the root for Anorexis is traced to the family and inside the four walls of a house. If the frequency of girls turning to Anorexia is to be altered, all one has to do is to being considerate and love the child unconditionally so that no one feels left out in any way.
